Job Title: Technical Claims Supervisor - MCU

Job Responsibilities:
The Technical Claims Supervisor in the Major Case Unit (MCU) is responsible for overseeing the management of large exposure and complex general/auto liability and trucking claims. This includes claims that are primary, umbrella, and excess, which are directly handled by Third-party Administrators (TPAs). The supervisor is tasked with delivering industry-leading technical claim handling, achieving excellent claim outcomes, and providing exceptional customer service. Key responsibilities include:

- Collaborating with TPA team members, Claim Account Managers (CAMs), and other claim professionals to develop and execute appropriate claim resolution strategies.
- Working closely with underwriters, legal, operations, and other functions to ensure effective communication and optimal claim outcomes.
- Prioritizing exceptional customer service through effective communication with insureds and brokers.
- Conducting coverage analysis, investigation, liability and damage evaluation, and managing litigation and vendor processes.
- Managing claim file documentation, coding, and diary management.
- Retaining and working with defense and coverage counsel to create and execute litigation/coverage strategies and budgets.
- Analyzing and paying legal bills consistent with claim strategies and guidelines.
- Providing effective and timely claim reporting to management and business stakeholders.
- Attending mediations, trials, and other proceedings.
- Maintaining required state adjustor licenses.
- Assisting CAMs with TPA management and oversight, including staff training, sharing best practices, conducting claim audits, and holding regular meetings with TPA claims staff.

Education and Experience Information:
The desired candidate should have a minimum of 10 years of experience in commercial general/auto liability claim handling, including responsibility for complex and large exposure claims. Experience as an insurance defense/coverage practicing attorney with similar law firm experience is also suitable. Additional experience in trucking, construction, or emergency service/medical professional liability claim handling is a plus. TPA management/oversight experience is also beneficial. A Juris Doctorate is desired but not required.

Salary Information:
The base salary range for this position is $145,000 - $165,000 per year. The position is incentive eligible, and total compensation will consider factors such as geographic location, role responsibilities, qualifications, talent availability, specialization, and business needs. The pay range may be subject to future modification.
