Job Title:
Counsel - Regulatory & Sustainability

Job Responsibilities:
The Counsel, Regulatory & Sustainability will manage various aspects including environmental, health, and safety (EHS) concerns, sustainability/ESG initiatives, product compliance, and real estate transactions. The role is broad and impactful, requiring the counsel to analyze and provide advice on both domestic and international regulatory matters to mitigate corporate exposure. Key responsibilities include:

- Analyzing and providing counsel on regulatory matters to reduce corporate exposure.
- Identifying legal risks and ensuring processes are in place to mitigate those risks.
- Counseling facility managers and senior management on legal matters.
- Providing legal training and supporting acquisitions and divestitures.
- Assisting in litigation matters and representing the business in enforcement or regulatory matters before governmental agencies.
- Exercising professional judgment to protect the business's interests and further EHS and sustainability strategic initiatives, including the company’s 2030 Sustainability Goals.

The successful candidate will focus on key areas such as EHS, Real Estate transactions, and Environmental Remediation, with responsibilities including:

- Providing legal and strategic counsel to management and EHS personnel to ensure compliance with EHS and product laws and regulations.
- Driving EHS, product stewardship, and sustainability efforts to support company growth in the power management space.
- Assisting with legal aspects of acquisitions and divestitures, including due diligence and contract negotiation.
- Providing counsel on real estate transactions, financing, and disputes.
- Assisting with due diligence investigations and reviews, including title, zoning, land use, and environmental considerations.
- Ensuring practices, policies, and activities meet legal and management requirements.
- Developing and delivering effective training to personnel on EHS, product, ESG, and real property matters.
- Participating in and managing negotiations with government agencies and others on EHS matters to communicate the company’s position, maximize benefits, and reduce risk.

Education and Experience Information:
The selected candidate must possess a Juris Doctorate from an accredited institution with the necessary licensing to practice law. A minimum of 6 years (post JD) of experience working in EHS, product compliance & sustainability, and dispute management is required. Real estate transaction experience is strongly preferred. The candidate must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced and changing environment, and be an effective communicator, negotiator, and problem solver who is proactive, thinks and acts strategically, drives for world-class results, embraces accountability, and demonstrates managerial courage, strong interpersonal skills, and professional presence.

Salary Information:
The expected annual salary range for this role is $158, - $232,. This role is also eligible for a variable incentive program. Please note the salary information provided is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
