Job Overview:

A law firm is seeking a Patent Agent with expertise in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Physics to join its team. The role primarily involves drafting and prosecuting patent applications related to high-tech innovations. Additional responsibilities include supporting IP due diligence, patent landscape analyses, patent litigation, and post-grant proceedings such as IPR, PGR, and interferences. The position offers the opportunity to work on a diverse range of cutting-edge technologies including software, hardware, semiconductors, telecommunications, autonomous vehicles, AI, machine learning, robotics, and blockchain. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and a passion for working on advanced technology matters.

Location:

Duties:

• Draft and prosecute patent applications related to high-tech innovations
• Conduct patent landscape analyses and support IP due diligence
• Assist with patent litigation and post-grant proceedings (IPR, PGR, interferences)
• Advise clients on various aspects of technology, including software, hardware, and emerging technologies such as AI, robotics, and blockchain
• Collaborate with clients and team members on IP strategy and portfolio development
• Support the firm’s technology practice by providing expert guidance on intellectual property matters

Requirements:

• USPTO registration
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Physics, or a related field
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Strong academic background
• Ability to work independently and take on significant responsibility
• A collaborative approach to teamwork and client interaction

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Physics, or a related field

Certifications:

• USPTO registration required

Skills:

• Expertise in patent prosecution for high-tech innovations
• Strong understanding of software, hardware, semiconductors, telecommunications, and other technologies such as AI, blockchain, and robotics
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
