Job Title: E-Discovery Technology Project Manager

Job Responsibilities:

- Manage the entire lifecycle of a case, ensuring effective handling of data from collection through final review and production.
- Work closely with legal teams to develop and maintain strategies for data management, including building, maintaining, and troubleshooting complex E-Discovery databases.
- Utilize Early Case Assessment and Advanced Analytics to cull and analyze data effectively.
- Oversee the loading of new or updated data, images, and native files for legal team review, and manage large collections of emails, images, and native files.
- Emphasize quality control checking of all work, including data from vendors and third parties.
- Provide application support within the department and to legal teams, assisting users with problems and questions, and guiding them through the process.
- Train attorneys and paralegals in the use of E-Discovery Technology software as needed.
- Handle document production, including pre- and post-production activities, and oversee the burning of data onto electronic media along with maintaining Chain of Custody.
- Communicate frequently and effectively with legal teams and vendors.
- Collaborate with Project Teams Manager, other Project Managers, and provide work to the group’s Specialists and Analysts.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
- Manage complete case activity involving all aspects of Electronic Discovery, case data management, document retention, and production of data.
- Develop strategies for efficient handling of discovery and production data.
- Build and maintain datasets using state-of-the-art document processing and review tools.
- Track all case-related activity utilizing project management tools, and complete all relevant electronic tracking and forms.
- Analyze and present data trends and patterns using Early Case Assessment and Advanced Analytics, providing advice on data collection, preservation, processing, production, and retention.
- Oversee work performed by Specialists and Analysts, and provide hands-on processing of email collections, native files, and image collections when necessary.
- Maintain back-end server and folder structure of databases, image collections, native files, mail stores, and load files.
- Assist with the identification and archiving of old case data.
- Participate in all aspects of document production processing, from initial communication with legal teams to final distribution of deliverables, and manage post-processing collections.
- Provide group, individual, or customized training, application support, and troubleshooting assistance.
- Maintain tracking logs for data received and loaded, and keep inventory of data media received for each project.
- Assist legal team requests including web site capturing, and audio and video capturing and editing.
- Collaborate with other E-Discovery Technology team members, but also possess the ability to work independently.
- Provide trial support and/or act as a liaison with trial presentation vendors.
- Provide both written and verbal advice and best practices to legal teams and vendors.
- Write clear, concise directions and summaries for legal team members, and provide timely status updates.
- Assist with testing existing and new software and participate in vendor demonstrations.
- Record daily time worked and pursue additional education and training in relevant E-Discovery Technology topics.
- Maintain confidentiality of all matters involved.

Education and Experience Information:

Education:

- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a senior-level E-Discovery Technology or Litigation Support role.

Experience:

- Minimum of 5 years of relevant E-Discovery Technology or Litigation Support experience, preferably in a law firm, although vendor experience is also considered.
- Sound appreciation of law firm culture and legal team demands.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

- Relativity Certified Administrator (RCA) certification is highly desirable.
- Understanding of the full EDRM lifecycle, both electronic and paper discovery, and production, as well as E-Discovery Technology best practices is required.
- Considerable hands-on experience with E-Discovery Technology processing software, review platforms, load file creation, handling, and manipulation, and repository administration, Acrobat, FTP, and project management software.
- Strong hands-on experience with kCura Relativity, Nuix, LexisNexis Concordance and LAW PreDiscovery, Thomson Reuters West Case Notebook, Sanction or Trial Director, and Microsoft Office is essential.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
- Ability to train both one-on-one and small groups, and in preparing training materials.
- Maintains strong attention to detail and quality control, even under pressure.
- Flexibility of schedule with some off-hour availability is important.
- Expected to possess considerable experience with advanced technologies such as Early Case Assessment, Advanced Analytics, Predictive Coding, Concept Clustering, and other emerging technologies.
- Expected to possess a deep understanding of database searchability and methodology, comprehending all issues surrounding OCR and extracted text, near native review, email threading, and text encoding, with a comprehensive understanding of imaging technologies.

Salary Information:

- The salary range for this position applies to various locations including Atlantic City, Chicago, Denver, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, Morristown, New York, Princeton, San Francisco, Seattle, and Washington, .
- The salary range reflects a variety of factors such as experience, education, licensure and/or certifications, geographic location, market demands, and other business and organizational needs.
- A reasonable estimate of the current range for this position is $135,000 to $155,000.

Other Information:

- The job operates in a clerical, office setting, using standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
- Physical requirements include sedentary work, exerting physical strength to lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects up to 10 pounds, with walking and standing often necessary.
- Visual acuity is required for activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing, viewing a computer terminal, and extensive reading.
