Job Title: Fellowship for 3L or Recent Law Graduates
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop project proposals in the area of poverty law, specifically focusing on Housing and Community Economic Development.
- Engage in legal advocacy on behalf of disenfranchised individuals or groups, particularly those who are inadequately represented in the legal system.
- Aim to address unmet needs of underserved populations or remove barriers to opportunity, with a special interest in projects serving rural Ohioans.
- Collaborate with organization attorneys to refine and enhance project proposals.
- Work closely with the organization to navigate the fellowship process and prepare project proposals for submission to outside fellowship sponsors.
- Exhibit strong organizational and communication skills, and manage a demanding workload effectively.
Education and Experience Information:
- Candidates must be 3L students or recent law graduates.
- Demonstrated interest in public interest law is required.
- Must have strong academic records.
- Must be eligible to take the Ohio Bar Exam in July 2026.
- Alternatively, candidates who can be admitted to practice law in Ohio before July 2026 or can submit a UBE transfer application to the Supreme Court of Ohio by January 15, 2026, may also be considered.
