Job Title: Tax Experienced Manager, Corporate/ASC 740
Job Responsibilities:
The Tax Experienced Manager in Corporate/ASC 740 is responsible for advising clients on the tax implications of their business objectives and evaluating alternative actions to lessen tax burdens and compliance costs. The role requires identifying different methods of complying with tax regulations and acting as the primary client contact for complex corporate tax and ASC 740 issues. The manager is expected to apply knowledge to understand potential tax issues and communicate potential risks and changes in tax policy. Key responsibilities include:
- Ensuring clients comply with applicable authorities while minimizing tax and reporting burdens.
- Conducting top-level reviews of tax returns and resolving tax issues with clients.
- Planning and reviewing the tax process, including budgeting, staffing, and monitoring engagement processes.
- Managing client relationships and expectations.
- Providing timely advice to clients.
- Conducting tax research and reporting analyses.
- Applying ASC 740 and firm policies regarding tax accruals.
- Consulting on efficient methods to maximize client benefits, including decreasing taxes.
- Developing an understanding of technical and practical issues in various taxation areas.
- Introducing and developing strategies to improve client and firm positions.
- Supervising associates and senior associates, reviewing their work, and providing feedback.
Education and Experience Information:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Taxation is required.
- Master’s degree in Accounting or Taxation is preferred.
Experience:
- A minimum of six years of prior experience is required.
- Experience in managing the preparation and auditing of ASC740 computations for both privately held and publicly traded clients is required.
- Prior supervisory experience is required.
- Experience with multinational clients is preferred.
License/Certifications:
- CPA certification, Attorney (admitted to practice in a . jurisdiction), or Internal Revenue Service Enrolled Agent ("CE") is required.
Software:
- Preferred experience with Microsoft Office Tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat.
- Preferred experience with tax research databases such as BNA and RIA and proficiency in tax compliance process software including GoFileRoom, GoSystemRS, Caseware, BNA Depreciation Software, or comparable programs.
