Job Overview:
A prominent law firm based in Princeton, NJ, seeks a seasoned Litigation Associate with experience in insurance and reinsurance matters. This position offers the opportunity to work on sophisticated disputes involving high-exposure coverage and reinsurance litigation. The ideal candidate will bring a strategic litigation mindset, proficiency in insurance coverage analysis, and strong advocacy skills.

Duties:

• Handle complex insurance coverage disputes and related commercial litigation

• Analyze policies including professional liability, general liability, and D&O insurance

• Draft pleadings, motions, and legal memoranda with precision and clarity

• Manage discovery, including document review, interrogatories, and depositions

• Participate in court hearings and related proceedings appropriate to the experience level

• Engage in strategic case management with minimal supervision

• Contribute to client relationship development and ongoing case strategy

• Collaborate with legal teams across offices to deliver comprehensive legal services

Requirements:

• 4 to 7 years of relevant litigation experience

• Substantive exposure to insurance coverage law and reinsurance disputes

• Demonstrated ability to independently manage caseloads and client interactions

• Track record of effective written and oral advocacy

• Prior experience handling high-stakes matters is an advantage

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Active Bar membership in good standing, preferably in New Jersey, or eligible for waiver/admission

Skills:

• Deep knowledge of insurance policy interpretation and litigation strategy

• Strong legal research, analytical, and problem-solving abilities

• Confidence managing depositions, drafting dispositive motions, and appearing in court

• Effective communicator with a client-focused approach

• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills
