The **Members Only** is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Court Attorney - Referee in the **Members Only**. This is a non-competitive and confidential position with a base salary of $126,278. The successful candidate must be admitted to the New York State Bar and have three years of service as an Associate Court Attorney, or eight years of relevant legal experience after admission to the Bar.

As a Court Attorney-Referee, the selected candidate will act as a special referee and handle complex legal issues in civil and criminal cases. They will also supervise court attorneys and support staff in one or more courts within a county, judicial district, or department. This position requires working with substantial independence, and duties may include conducting hearings, taking testimony, researching and analyzing legal questions, and drafting opinions.

The Court Attorney-Referee will be assigned to work with three City Courts and provide backup support to Town and Village Courts in the Eastern half of the district. However, there may be changes in assignments based on the evolving needs of the district. Responsibilities may also include conducting court-sponsored mediation, conferring foreclosure cases, and assisting with alternative dispute resolution initiatives.
