Counsel, Studio Technology
Job Responsibilities:
The Counsel, Studio Technology is tasked with supporting the innovative Studio Technology team at the company. The core responsibilities include:
- Drafting and negotiating technology-related agreements and legal documentation, which covers software licenses, software-as-a-service agreements, professional services agreements, non-disclosure agreements, and software/system evaluation agreements.
- Collaborating with senior attorneys and internal stakeholders to support technology initiatives in areas such as production, post-production, marketing, and innovation.
- Interpreting existing policies and advising business partners on legal requirements.
- Solving complex problems and exercising judgment.
- Ensuring constant, effective communication (both oral and written) with both internal business partners and third parties.
Education and Experience Information:
- A JD degree from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials.
- Admission to the California State Bar Association or willingness and qualification to be Registered In-House Counsel.
- 3-4 years of legal experience as an attorney working on technology agreements.
- Understanding of the technology and entertainment businesses, with a demonstrated capacity to stay current on emerging business trends and legal developments in technology, entertainment, and intellectual property law.

- Strong drafting, negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to spot legal issues and devise well-thought-out solutions.
- Comfortable negotiating orally and in writing.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well with different roles and levels in a team environment.
- Ability to build interdepartmental relationships at all levels and communicate with executives.
- Ability to think strategically and present arguments to higher-level attorneys and business partners.
- Ability to evaluate and reconcile issues from the business-unit and enterprise-level perspective.
- Exceptional organizational, prioritization, and time management skills with the ability to work under tight deadlines and execute efficiently against multiple, high-priority, and high-volume projects.
- Ability to work in an environment with a high degree of confidentiality and professionalism.
Salary Information:
The hiring range for this position in Burbank, CA is $142, to $183, per year. The base pay offered will take into account internal equity and may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
