Job Responsibilities:
The Contracts Attorney is responsible for supporting the Chief Legal Officer by performing a variety of legal tasks and creating work products for the company. The primary responsibilities include:
- Liaising with internal and external clients to focus on the timely execution of customer contracts.
- Analyzing and interpreting contracts to provide thoughtful legal advice on potential risks and issues.
- Assisting with the preparation of training materials and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Overseeing the contract management system and databases used by the legal team, and assisting with organizing general legal files.
- Managing internal legal templates.
- Implementing best practices in contract review, negotiation, and management.
- Collaborating with internal stakeholders to respond to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) promptly and efficiently.
- Conducting research, analysis, and summarization of information from various sources, including other departments, government offices, websites, and hard copy files.
- Ensuring client satisfaction, both internally and externally.
- Assisting with special projects and performing general legal and administrative duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
Applicants for the Contracts Attorney position must meet the following education and experience requirements:
- A minimum of 2+ years of experience in drafting, negotiating, and reviewing a wide variety of corporate and commercial contracts.
- Excellent academic credentials from a . accredited law school.
- Effective communication skills.
- Capability and experience to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Outstanding references.
- Must be licensed and in good standing as an attorney in their state of residence.
- Negotiating experience is preferred.
- Experience in Employment Law is a plus.
Salary Information:
The salary range for the Contracts Attorney position is to per hour.
Additional Information:
- This is a part-time position with an expected travel requirement of up to 25%. Occasional travel may be necessary to visit remote offices or attend conferences and industry events. Attendance at the corporate Staff Retreat and annual User Conference is required.
- The role operates in a professional office environment, using standard office equipment. The physical requirements include the ability to sit for extended periods, frequently communicate verbally, and use hands and fingers for typing and computer tasks. The role requires close visual acuity for data and text analysis, and the ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds.
- This position is classified as a full-time non-exempt role, with general availability expected during regular business hours three days each week. Some flexibility is allowed, with occasional evening and weekend work as required.
