Job Responsibilities:
The Summer Associate Program at the law firm provides an opportunity for 2L law students to work directly with attorneys on real client work. The program is designed to bridge the gap between academic learning and practical experience. Summer Associates are assigned to specific departments, such as Corporate/Real Estate, Labor & Employment, or Construction Litigation, allowing them to gain in-depth knowledge and insights in a particular practice area. Responsibilities include:
- Collaborating with law firm partners and associates on client cases and projects.
- Attending client meetings to gain exposure to real-world legal practice.
- Shadowing attorneys on various deals and cases to enhance understanding of substantive legal areas.
- Participating in a specialized curriculum tailored to the assigned department, including seminars on legal topics, ethics, client service, and other essential skills.
- Engaging in practical learning opportunities such as depositions, court appearances, closings, and client meetings.
Education and Experience Information:
Candidates for the Summer Associate position must meet the following educational and experience criteria:
- Completion of one year of law school and expected to receive a JD in May 2027.
- Demonstrated academic achievement at the law school level.
- An interest in a specific practice area, such as Corporate/Real Estate, Labor & Employment, or Construction Litigation, as evidenced by coursework, certificate programs, or prior work experience.
- An appreciation for collaboration and teamwork.
Salary Information:
Compensation for the Summer Associate position is based on an annualized salary of $225,000.
