Job Title: Corporate Counsel, Trademark & Copyright, Amazon MGM Studios IP team

Job Responsibilities:
As a Corporate Counsel on the Amazon MGM Studios IP team, you will be responsible for shaping a comprehensive IP department focused on filmed entertainment. Your key job responsibilities will include:

- Managing title clearance and protection.
- Conducting trademark risk assessment, prosecution, maintenance, and enforcement.
- Overseeing copyright protection and enforcement.
- Providing client counseling on IP matters.
- Engaging in deal negotiation and licensing.
- Developing and implementing IP processes and best practices.
- Managing disputes related to IP issues.
- Educating and counseling the business on IP matters.
- Reporting to the AGC & Director of Intellectual Property.
- Collaborating with a dynamic team of IP professionals dedicated to global trademark, copyright, and domain issues for Amazon MGM Studios.

Education and Experience Information:
Basic Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor degree and membership in one state bar or equivalent.
- A minimum of 5 years of legal experience.
- Experience in transactional and technology licensing or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a mix of corporate law firm and in-house roles.
- Deep knowledge of trademark and copyright issues, opportunities, and best practices for companies in the entertainment industry.
- Ability to assume primary responsibility for all trademark and copyright-related activities, including training, branding, risk assessment, prosecution, maintenance, enforcement, deal negotiation, and dispute resolution, in a fast-paced and frugal environment.
- Ability to understand and resolve complex legal and business issues.
- Ability to translate IP issues to members of the creative, marketing, business, management, and legal teams.
- Creativity, attention to detail, commitment to customer service, and excellent communication skills.

Salary Information:
The compensation for this position reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay ranges from $138,500 per year in the lowest geographic market to $229,000 per year in the highest geographic market. Pay is based on various factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company, and depending on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package. This may include a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
