Introduction:
- Opportunity for undergraduate and law students to participate in a fall or spring internship or during summer break
- Assigned to one of the Division's Bureaus or supporting Units and Offices
- Supervised by a Detective or a Deputy Attorney General for undergraduate students, and an Assistant Attorney General for law students
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Exposed to various investigative aspects for the interdiction and prosecution of violations of criminal law
- Enhances undergraduate studies in Criminal Justice or related forensic or technical fields of study
- Exposed to a variety of substantive areas of New Jersey criminal law for law students
- Expected to have excellent legal research and writing skills
- All interns are expected to have outstanding interpersonal communication skills
Opportunities:
- Observe and work with Detectives and Deputy Attorneys General in their normal job duties
- Attend the Summer Intern Brown Bag Lunch Program for periodic speaking/training events
- Opportunities to attend court appearances and observe litigation techniques
