Job Title: Law Clerk

Department: Department of the Air Force - Air Force Civilian Career Training

Job Responsibilities:
- Assist military and civilian attorneys in providing legal advice and litigating matters involving government contracts, labor and employment, environmental law, torts, administrative law, legal assistance, and other areas to support Air and Space Force missions and personnel.
- Perform duties under the guidance of other attorneys to support the Office of the Staff Judge Advocate.
- Prepare cases for litigation, including interviewing witnesses and collecting and organizing evidence.

Education and Experience Information:
- Must be a graduate of a law school accredited by the American Bar Association. Applicants currently attending law school with a projected graduation no later than June of the academic year of application may apply but cannot be appointed until after graduation and meeting qualification requirements.
- Admission to the bar is not a prerequisite but is expected during the first year of employment. Appointment as a law clerk is limited to 14 months, during which the appointee must be admitted and show active membership in good standing with the bar of the highest court of a state, . commonwealth, . territory, or the District of Columbia. After this period, the law clerk may be appointed as an attorney.
- Must adhere to the Air Force Rules of Professional Conduct.
- May be required to file an Office of Government Ethics (OGE) Form 450, Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, upon appointment and annually thereafter.

Salary Information:
- Salary: $59,966 - $88,065 per year
- Pay scale & grade: GS 9

- The position is part of the PALACE ACQUIRE (PAQ) program, centrally managed and funded by the Air Force Personnel Center.
