Overview:
- The Maryland Attorney General's Office offers a volunteer Law Clerk program for law students to gain experience in various legal fields.
- Law clerks have the opportunity to work on criminal investigations, consumer protection cases, and provide counsel to state agencies.
- The Office has a distinguished history of addressing complex legal issues successfully and making a difference in communities across the state.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct legal research and writing assignments
- Participate in witness and client interviews
- Assist with litigation in Maryland's trial, administrative, and appellate courts
- Work closely with supervising attorneys in various divisions and agencies
Qualifications:
- Excellent legal research and writing abilities
- Strong communication and team skills
- Good work ethic and attitude
- Must be a law student, with no specific class year requirement
- GPA of or above preferred

- Law clerks can choose up to three divisions to work in, with the possibility of being contacted by other divisions as well.
- Some of the divisions include Aging, Antitrust, Civil Litigation, Consumer Protection, Criminal Division, Education, Environment, Health, Labor, Transportation, and more.
- Not every division accepts law clerks every term.
