This role is ideal for a business-oriented legal professional with strong technical expertise and a passion for working with startups, scaleups, and high-growth innovators. Duties

  • Serve as a legal and strategic advisor to investors, founders, and tech-driven companies

  • Lead and execute corporate transactions including M&A, venture capital, venture debt, and corporate restructures

  • Provide cross-border legal guidance, including tax, regulatory compliance, and redomestication matters

  • Draft and negotiate complex commercial agreements and vendor contracts

  • Act as external General Counsel for select clients, advising on capital raising, corporate governance, and HR structuring

  • Drive business development through client relationship management and community engagement

  • Identify creative legal solutions to complex challenges in fast-evolving tech sectors

  • Collaborate with an international legal team across jurisdictions to ensure seamless client service

  • Stay updated on emerging legal trends in corporate law, venture finance, and technology regulation

  • Own and manage key client relationships and legal matters

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience practicing corporate law

  • Prior experience in law firms, in-house legal departments, or entrepreneurial environments

  • Strong background in business law, cross-border structuring, and regulatory compliance

  • Proven track record advising on financing transactions, M&A, and deal structuring

  • Strong client advisory and communication skills

  • Ability to work independently and take initiative in a fast-paced legal environment

  • Comfortable in a hybrid and remote-first team structure

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent legal qualification from an accredited law school

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in the jurisdiction of residence

  • Admission to practice in Australia (required for Sydney-based role)
