Job Title: Employment Law Attorney

Job Overview:
A respected law firm located in Daytona Beach, FL is seeking a driven and knowledgeable attorney with a focus on employment and wage & hour law. This position offers the opportunity to represent individual employees in matters involving workplace rights, including discrimination, retaliation, harassment, and compensation disputes. The successful candidate will manage cases from inception through resolution, including pre-litigation, negotiation, litigation, and trial, while operating in a professional office environment.

Duties:

• Represent clients in employment-related legal matters, including:

  • Discrimination based on protected characteristics

  • Unlawful denial of medical leave and FMLA rights

  • Sexual harassment and hostile work environment claims

  • Wage and hour violations, including unpaid overtime

  • Executive compensation disputes

• Manage litigation from case intake through trial and resolution

• Conduct depositions, court appearances, administrative hearings, and mediations

• Perform legal research and prepare legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and discovery

• Negotiate settlements and develop case strategies aligned with client goals

• Maintain regular communication with clients to provide updates and strategic advice

Requirements:

• Active license to practice law in the state of Florida

• Minimum of 2 years of legal experience, ideally with exposure to employment law or a demonstrated interest in the field

• Proven experience handling federal court matters

• Comfort handling a high-volume caseload in a deadline-driven environment

• Strong analytical and strategic thinking capabilities

Education:

• Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Admission to the Florida Bar

Skills:

• Proficiency in legal writing, research, and case preparation

• Excellent verbal communication and advocacy skills

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet time-sensitive demands

• Professional demeanor with a collaborative, client-focused approach
