Job Responsibilities:
The Law Clerk Internship offered by the **Members Only** provides law school students and recent graduates with a unique opportunity to gain firsthand experience in the operations of state government. The responsibilities of the law clerks encompass a wide range of assignments, including both transactional and litigation-related work. Key duties include:
- Conducting legal research and writing.
- Assisting in discovery processes.
- Preparing for trials and hearings.
- Drafting legal documents.
- Engaging in critical thinking to analyze laws and regulations.
- Communicating effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Working independently as well as collaboratively with others.
- Prioritizing tasks, meeting deadlines, and managing time efficiently.
- Utilizing skills in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.
Education and Experience Information:
Applicants for the Law Clerk Internship must meet the following minimum qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a juris doctor program or have graduated within the last twelve months from an accredited college or university with a juris doctor degree.
- Possess excellent research and writing skills.
- Demonstrate the ability to work efficiently and independently with moderate supervision.
- Exhibit excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Salary Information:
The salary for the Law Clerk Internship is to be determined by the agency. Internships may be paid or unpaid, and there is no guarantee of employment upon completion of the internship.
