Job Title: Corporate Counsel, AWS Sales and Marketing Global Services
Job Responsibilities:
The Corporate Counsel will support the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Sales and Marketing organization, specifically the Global Deal Strategy & Programs (GDSP) organization. This role involves negotiating complex cloud services agreements with public sector customers and providing expert legal advice on regulatory and compliance matters related to Amazon's public sector business worldwide. This includes government contracting, procurement regulations, and public sector-specific laws and policies across various jurisdictions. Additionally, the Corporate Counsel will advise on the launch of new products and tools and participate in other AWS legal projects such as driving simplification efforts and modernizing and scaling legal support. Success in this role requires being inquisitive, enthusiastic about technology, and thriving in a team-oriented environment. The candidate must demonstrate sound judgment in ambiguous situations and be adept at driving consensus across stakeholders.
Education and Experience Information:
- A minimum of 5+ years of legal experience is required.
- The candidate must possess a Juris Doctor degree and be a member of one state bar or equivalent.
- An in-depth knowledge of . government procurement processes and contracting laws, rules, and regulations is essential.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a mix of corporate law firm and in-house work is preferred.
- Experience in transactional and technology licensing or equivalent is beneficial.
- An active . Government TS/SCI security clearance or the ability to obtain one is preferred.
- Familiarity with IT infrastructure, outsourcing, telecommunications, or cloud services is advantageous.
- In-house experience at a technology or internet company is preferred.
- Experience as a legal advisor to government procurement officials, particularly at the Federal level, is beneficial.
- Experience in engaging with . government contracting officials, system integrators, prime contractors, and resellers is preferred.
- Experience in reviewing and negotiating legal terms of a broad range of enterprise technology commercial contracts is beneficial.
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills, ability to manage multiple projects at once and follow through, and a solutions-oriented approach to addressing issues are required.
