Job Responsibilities:
- Align global effective tax rate reduction and efficient global cash utilization with overall business strategy.
- Help multinational clients integrate tax planning into their overall business strategy and comply with both . and international regulatory requirements.
- Assist companies with international compliance, research, consulting, and planning issues.
- Advise . and foreign multinational companies on the tax implications of their international operations.
- Coordinate . tax laws with foreign tax laws to develop an optimal worldwide tax strategy.
- Mentor and coach junior team members.
- Assist with the engagement process, support junior staff with their tasks, and help ensure deliverables are completed on time.
- Participate in client calls to discuss tax-related matters, provide updates on project progress, and address any client questions or concerns.
- Help companies understand international tax structures and align the tax function with business objectives.
- Analyze international tax issues when a company is engaged in a merger or acquisition, maintaining compliance with multi-jurisdictional business transactions, or streamlining a multinational supply chain.
- Support projects, as needed, including administrative works, such as billing and engagement setup.
- Commute within the Minneapolis, MN area to consult with clients concerning the above job duties.
Education and Experience Information:
- Bachelor's (or higher) degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, Law, Business Administration, or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent).
- Eighteen months of experience as a Tax Senior or related occupation gaining experience performing tax planning, reporting, and compliance for . multinational corporations and partnerships.
- Experience must include eighteen months of:
- Preparing work papers and international tax compliance forms and informational returns, including Forms 1120F, 5471, 5472, 8865, and 8858 disclosures and statements.
- Analyzing work papers to calculate Section 861 deductions, interest expense allocation, and effectively connected income (ECI) to estimate the . income tax liability of foreign corporations.
- Reviewing proposed merger and acquisition documents and client data to identify contributions to foreign corporations and comply with Form 926 requirements.
- Advising clients on various international tax issues, including subpart F, outbound transfer, global intangible low-taxed income (GILTI), base erosion and anti-abuse tax (BEAT), overall domestic loss, and developing optimal tax structures for corporate restructuring, corporate reorganization, and mergers and acquisitions.
- Assisting with drafting tax memoranda to address tax technical analyses, including determining whether certain foreign entities' activities constitute a permanent establishment in the . and what portion of income may be subject to . federal income tax.
- Performing tax due diligence to identify tax attributes and propose optimal capital distributions to maximize foreign tax credits and reduce effective tax rates.
- Reviewing client-prepared work papers, including earnings and profits, foreign income inclusions, foreign tax credit analyses, and deferred tax asset utilization capacity analyses.
- Utilizing CCH, BNA, LexisNexis, and Thomson Reuters to identify complex tax issues, research various . federal income tax issues, and analyze tax rules and regulations of foreign jurisdictions.
- Less than 10% domestic travel outside normal commuting distance.
Salary Information:
- Annual Salary: $82, - $153,
