Job Title: Internship Opportunity with Senator Warner

Job Responsibilities:

1. Washington, . Office Intern:
- Answer constituent phone calls and provide assistance.
- Process constituent correspondence.
- Attend hearings/briefings and draft summaries.
- Conduct research and produce written materials for legislative aides.
- Assist the Senator’s communications team in drafting press materials.
- Lead tours of the historic . Capitol Building.
- Perform various tasks to help the Senator fulfill his Constitutional obligations.

2. Virginia Office Intern:
- Answer constituent phone calls and provide assistance.
- Process constituent requests for assistance.
- Help staff develop regional outreach calendars.
- Attend community outreach events.
- Prepare congressional inquiries.
- Support the congratulatory letter operation.
- Front office duties and basic office administration.
- Perform various tasks to help the Senator fulfill his Constitutional obligations.

Education and Experience Information:

- Preference is given to candidates who have completed their first year of college.
- Candidates should reside in Virginia or attend college in the state.
- Must have graduated from high school to be eligible.
- Interns must meet a minimum time commitment:
- Washington, . Office: Minimum of 24 hours per week during fall and spring; full-time during the 6-week summer session.
- Virginia Office: Minimum of 12 hours per week during fall and spring; minimum of 24 hours per week during the 10-week summer session.

Salary Information:

- Fall interns in state offices may receive a pre-tax stipend:
- $1000 for working between 12 – 23 hours per week for the entire session.
- $2000 for working at least 24 hours a week for the entire session.
