JOB SUMMARY:

This position is designed for individuals with strong critical thinking skills who are eager to collaborate with a team of dedicated professionals to foster a culture of respect, consideration for colleagues, and the production of high-quality work. Candidates will receive thorough training and clear instructions, with the expectation that tasks will be executed meticulously and with attention to detail.

The role encompasses all aspects of the legal process related to secured lending, which includes, but is not limited to, civil litigation, title litigation, and potential bankruptcy matters. Responsibilities include drafting discovery and legal pleadings, including dispositive motions, maintaining timely communication with clients to ensure an excellent client experience, engaging in regular communication with court officers and opposing counsel, and preparing for depositions and court appearances with a high level of competence.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Possess a strong character and maintain a positive attitude.
- Conduct initial intake and analysis on files and generate strategy and budget within 24 hours.
- Exhibit strong writing skills to draft civil litigation documents, ranging from discovery to dispositive motions and client correspondence.
- Review chain of title, pleadings, foreclosure documents, and respond to lender and agent requests.
- Adapt quickly between tasks based on daily needs.
- Make court appearances across California and provide same-day client updates.
- Address questions from staff and assist in a friendly manner.
- Write, review, and edit reports, opinions, correspondence, and articles for compliance purposes.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as needed.

EDUCATION & WORK EXPERIENCE:

- Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws, with the ability to analyze case law and provide recommendations. This is typically acquired through a combination of completing a Juris Doctor from an accredited law school and relevant work experience.
- Active membership in the CA State Bar, in good standing, is required.
- A professional appearance and the ability to represent the law firm positively to the public are essential.
- Preferably, candidates should have 2+ years of related experience in the mortgage area.

- Ability to work efficiently and competently both remotely and in the office.
- Must be a motivated self-starter, capable of multitasking, detail-oriented, flexible, and personable.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
- Proficiency with computer applications, technology, telephone, and Microsoft Office products is necessary.
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects effectively.
- Strong people skills, with the ability to communicate respectfully and effectively with borrowers, clients, attorneys, colleagues, and various external parties.
- Must work well with others in a congenial and team-oriented manner.
- Ability to identify and resolve problems efficiently, gathering and analyzing information as needed.
- Recognize when to escalate issues to management.
- Balance team and individual responsibilities, contributing to building a positive team spirit.
- Demonstrate attention to detail and seek ways to improve and promote quality.
- Flexibility and adaptability are required for fast-paced and high-growth potential environments.
- Exceptional organizational skills are necessary; the position requires the ability to multitask and adapt to continual change.
- Proficiency in internet research, including WestLaw and/or LexisNexis, is required.

Salary Description
