Tax Manager - Financial Services Organization - Tax Technology & Transformation
Job Responsibilities:
As a Tax Manager within the Financial Services Organization's Tax Technology & Transformation practice, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Identifying ways to improve operational effectiveness in tax functions.
- Reviewing existing processes and controls, including technology, to enhance efficiency.
- Evaluating the effectiveness of various technology systems used by tax clients to increase automation and data quality throughout tax processes.
- Assessing overall risk to establish a proper control environment.
- Designing and building custom tax applications.
- Managing quality deliverables from offshore teams, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within cost, and meet quality standards.
- Documenting technical and business requirements, identifying and prioritizing issues.
- Collaborating with leadership to execute impactful projects.
- Traveling 30-80% of the time, depending on home location and client projects.
Skills and attributes for success in this role include strong leadership ability, attention to detail, problem-solving skills, analytical abilities, and excellent verbal and written communication skills. Additionally, an interest and experience in improving the performance of tax functions, the ability to motivate others, and a willingness to develop meaningful and influential relationships with clients and colleagues are vital.
Education and Experience Information:
- A bachelor's degree with approximately 5 years of relevant work experience, or a master's degree with approximately 4 years of relevant work experience is required.
- Exposure to the financial services industry, accounting/finance/tax, tax or finance performance improvement, and tax software development/implementation is necessary.
- Candidates should possess or have the ability to obtain certifications such as CPA, JD, Six Sigma Green/Black Belt, and/or Project Management Professional (PMP) within one year of joining the company.
Ideally, candidates will also have:
- Knowledge in implementing tax technology solutions (., CorpTax, ONESOURCE, Sabrix, Vertex, SharePoint, PFI, RPA software).
- Experience embedding tax requirements into financial/business systems and processes (., Oracle, SAP, Hyperion, PAM, Investran).
- Skills in developing and implementing custom applications (., Visual Studio, VBA/VSTO, SQL Server, MS PowerBI Suite).
Salary Information:
The base salary range for this position varies by geographic location in the .:
- General . range: $127,100 to $233,000
- New York City Metro Area, Washington State, and California (excluding Sacramento): $152,500 to $264,800
Individual salaries within these ranges are determined by factors such as education, experience, knowledge, skills, and geography.
