Job Title: Contract Civil Litigation Attorney (Remote)
Job Responsibilities:
- Manage Assigned Civil Litigation Cases: Assume full ownership of cases delegated by the Partner, ensuring strategic, timely, and effective handling at every stage of litigation.
- Initial Case Development: Draft and file initial pleadings, conduct thorough document reviews, and assist in developing case strategy early in the litigation process.
- Legal Drafting: Prepare and file legal documents, including motions, briefs, and memoranda. Draft and respond to discovery requests with precision and legal accuracy.
- Discovery and Disclosures: Draft disclosures in compliance with applicable procedural rules and manage all phases of written and oral discovery.
- Client Interaction: Conduct client meetings to gather facts, provide case updates, and offer legal counsel while maintaining strong, empathetic client relationships throughout the litigation process.
- Opposing Counsel Communications: Engage in professional and strategic communications with opposing counsel, including negotiation, case discussions, and resolution efforts.
- Depositions: Prepare for, conduct, and defend depositions effectively, demonstrating strong advocacy and analytical skills.
- Additional Legal Duties: Perform other litigation-related tasks and responsibilities as assigned, contributing to the overall success of the legal team.
Education and Experience Information:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in civil litigation, with a demonstrated ability to manage cases independently.
- Preferred background in insurance coverage or construction litigation.
- Juris Doctor from an accredited law school and an active license to practice in Colorado, in good standing.
- Proven experience supporting complex litigation.
- Exceptional legal research and writing skills, with a strong attention to clarity and precision.
- Ability to operate independently while consistently delivering high-quality, timely work.
- Excellent time management skills, with the ability to meet strict deadlines and maintain meticulous attention to detail.
- Commitment to the highest standards of legal professional ethics.
- Remote work, no travel required.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a positive, team-oriented mindset.
- Self-starter who takes proactive initiative with strong organizational skills.
Salary Information:
- This is a contract position offering a competitive hourly rate of $125 - $150, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
