Job Responsibilities
The Asset & Wealth Management - Renewable Energy Tax Senior Manager will work within the Financial Services Tax practice, specifically in Corporate Tax services, advising clients on managing their tax obligations and the impact of tax on business operations. Key responsibilities include:
- Advising clients on local and international tax affairs, strategic business analysis, managing working capital, and profit sharing.
- Helping organizations understand pricing implications for goods and services between related parties and providing tax advice on deals.
- Navigating the complex national and international tax environments concerning capital requirements, operational tax risks, and investment tax implications.
- Assisting clients with tax structuring to address challenges in the evolving tax landscape both locally and globally.
- Encouraging team members to voice opinions and inviting input from quieter team members.
- Effectively dealing with ambiguous and unstructured problems and situations.
- Initiating coaching conversations and moving seamlessly between big picture thinking and managing details.
- Anticipating stakeholder needs and developing potential solutions proactively.
- Contributing technical knowledge and fostering an environment where people and technology thrive together.
- Leading open conversations with teams, clients, and stakeholders to build trust and uphold the company's code of ethics and business conduct.
- Working with renewable energy companies to develop innovative tax solutions, particularly in response to the Inflation Reduction Act.
- Leading the way as technology-enabled tax advisors, focusing on digitization, automation, and increased efficiencies.
Education and Experience Information
Basic Qualifications
- Minimum Degree Required: Bachelor Degree
- Required Field(s) of Study: Accounting
- Minimum Year(s) of Experience: 5 years
- Certification(s) Required: CPA, Member of the Bar, or other tax, technology, or finance-specific credentials may qualify for this opportunity.
Preferred Qualifications
- In-depth knowledge of compliance and consulting for investment partnerships, including hedge funds, mutual funds, and private equity funds.
- Experience with structuring funds and fund management companies to limit tax liability.
- In-depth knowledge of alternative investment strategies and vehicles.
- Experience with complicated partnership structures and tax matters relevant to the renewable energy industry, such as tax credits and fixed asset depreciation.
- Interest in learning more about the renewable energy industry.
- Experience innovating with new and existing technologies and experimenting with digitization solutions.
- Experience working with large, complex data sets and leveraging data visualization tools to provide insights to clients.
- Experience using digitization tools to reduce hours and optimize engagements.
- Experience advancing pricing strategy through pricing tools and shifting to alternative fee arrangements.
- Building and maintaining networks of client relationships and community involvement.
- Demonstrating success as a tax technical business advisor, developing new relationships, and introducing new services with a "One Firm" service mindset.
- Experience with automation and digitization in a professional services environment, including managing resource requirements, project workflow, budgets, billing, and collections.
- Experience as a team leader, creating an atmosphere of trust, encouraging diverse views, and coaching staff with timely feedback.
Salary Information
The salary range for the Asset & Wealth Management - Renewable Energy Tax Senior Manager position is $124,000 - $335,000, with eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus. Actual compensation within this range will depend on the individual's skills, experience, qualifications, location, and applicable employment laws.
