Responsibilities:

- Provide legal advice on privacy and data protection requirements globally
- Exercise risk-based judgment on privacy concerns and conduct privacy impact assessments
- Draft and negotiate agreements with customers, suppliers, and partners
- Develop and deliver training on data privacy and protection
- Lead privacy due diligence for potential acquisitions and support integration into privacy program
- Collaborate on policies and procedures related to data privacy and protection
- Support incident response process for events involving regulated personal data
- Provide guidance on new compliance requirements

Requirements:

- Law degree from reputable law school
- Minimum 8 years of legal experience in-house or with large law firm
- Certification from International Association of Privacy Professionals preferred
- Expertise in data protection and privacy laws, both US and international
- Experience with privacy impact assessments and knowledge of privacy by design principles
- Background in technology and software preferred
- Strong communication skills and ability to negotiate at executive levels
- Able to exercise risk-based judgment and propose solutions to complex problems
- Flexible to work under short deadlines and outside normal working hours
