Job Responsibilities
The Senior Counsel, Privacy & Data Protection, Identity at the company is tasked with ensuring compliance of the company’s Identity Solutions with global privacy and data-related laws. Key responsibilities include:
- Overseeing privacy support for the Sales and Commercialization Identity teams.
- Developing contract structures, reviewing contracts, and managing complex negotiations with customers, partners, and vendors to ensure privacy compliance and secure data use rights.
- Keeping abreast of privacy and data protection issues arising from identity verification technologies.
- Engaging with the organization on privacy and data-related matters through employee training and raising awareness about relevant regulatory or industry developments.
- Providing regular training and updates to the Global Privacy and Data Protection Team about emerging issues and creative approaches to ensure privacy compliance.
- Actively participating in external speaking engagements on various privacy topics.
Education and Experience Information
- A is required, and the candidate must be in good standing with a state bar.
- A minimum of five years of post-qualification experience is necessary.
- Additional qualifications such as a Master of Laws degree, CIPP/E, or CIPP/US are considered assets.
- Solid knowledge of global privacy laws, including the GDPR, CCPA, and relevant regulatory guidelines and opinions, is required.
- Demonstrated experience in working with business and end customers, leading direct negotiation of complex product-related agreements independently, is essential.
- Superior time management, planning, and organizational skills are necessary.
- Strong analytical capabilities and written and oral communication skills are required, with attention to detail being a must.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with proven experience in relationship building and partnering are essential. The candidate must work well in both team and individual settings, including across global jurisdictions.
- The ability to motivate and influence highly skilled professionals to achieve major organizational goals is required.
Salary Information
The successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary based on location, experience, and other qualifications for the role. They may also be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role. The salary ranges for various locations are as follows:
- Seattle, Washington: $187,000 - $300,000 USD
- Arlington, Virginia: $187,000 - $300,000 USD
- Atlanta, Georgia: $163,000 - $261,000 USD
- Boston, Massachusetts: $187,000 - $300,000 USD
- Miami, Florida: $163,000 - $261,000 USD
- Purchase, New York: $187,000 - $300,000 USD
