A well-established family law firm with offices in Oak Brook and downtown Chicago is seeking a Senior Family Law Associate to join its Oak Brook office. This position is ideal for an attorney with 2–5 years of relevant experience who can independently manage complex family law matters, including high-conflict divorces, child custody, and post-decree issues. The firm offers a collaborative legal environment, opportunity to work on federal Hague Convention cases, and a competitive compensation package.

Location:

  • Oak Brook, Illinois

Duties:

  • Independently manage a full caseload of family law matters

  • Handle all aspects of divorce, custody, and allocation of parental responsibilities

  • Draft and review motions, discovery, settlement agreements, and court filings

  • Appear in court for hearings, trials, and other litigation-related proceedings

  • Manage post-decree modifications and orders of protection

  • Collaborate with team attorneys on strategy and case development

  • Opportunity to assist on Hague Convention matters in both state and federal courts

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2–5 years of experience practicing family law

  • Strong litigation and case management background

  • Ability to independently conduct hearings preferred

  • Federal court experience or licensure is a plus

  • Positive attitude and strong attention to detail

  • Ability to start immediately and practice law in Illinois

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law in the State of Illinois

Skills:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of Illinois family law procedures

  • Strong oral and written advocacy skills

  • Skilled in client communication and courtroom presentation

  • Proficient in drafting and negotiating legal documents

  • Organized, team-oriented, and dependable under deadlines
