Job Title: 2026 Summer Intern - Prosecuting Attorneys Association

Job Responsibilities:
- Interns will gain practical experience in law and oral advocacy by working in prosecutors’ offices.
- They will handle in-court assignments typically managed by assistant prosecutors.
- Interns will be involved in plea negotiations, bench trials, formal hearings, and case review.
- They may participate in family court proceedings and have the opportunity to prepare and conduct jury trials.
- Interns will be given authority to appear and represent the People of the State of Michigan in court proceedings under Michigan Court Rule .
- They are expected to complete the 11-week internship and fulfill all duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Information:
- Applicants must be law students who have completed at least 40 credit hours by May 8, 2026.
- Students should have at least one semester of law school remaining after the internship.
- Candidates must be Michigan residents or intend to practice in Michigan upon graduation.
- Preference is given to those who have completed courses in criminal law, criminal procedure, and evidence by May 2026.
- An articulable interest in the criminal justice system, specifically prosecution, is required.

Salary Information:
- Interns will receive a salary of $9, for the 11-week period, based on a 40-hour workweek at a rate of per hour.
- Intern positions are at-will, and interns serve at the pleasure of the host county prosecutor.
