Job Description:
- Host a fellow for one or two years, beginning in September 2025
- Serve patients-clients in coordination with a Medical Legal Partnership (MLP)
- Work on-site at a hospital or health center, and at the downtown office
- Advise and represent clients on issues including public benefits, healthcare access, special education, and Social Security
- Encouraged to develop proposals centered on health equity, with a focus on youth mental/behavioral health or immigrant youth access to education and healthcare
Job Requirements:
- Strong commitment to racial justice and health equity
- Prior work or volunteer experience with nonprofit legal, healthcare, or social services organizations is a plus
- Spanish-language ability is a plus
- Excellent research and writing skills
- Strong relationship-building abilities
- Completed law school and taken the Illinois Bar before fellowship begins in September 2025
- Willingness to work with Legal Council to pursue a fellowship during Summer 2024
