A law firm seeks a driven and experienced attorney to join their Commercial Litigation practice group in Pittsburgh. This is an exciting opportunity for an Associate Attorney to take on challenging and varied litigation cases, from initial filings through trial and appeal. The role offers substantial hands-on experience in all phases of litigation, with opportunities to collaborate closely with senior attorneys and develop professional skills in a dynamic legal environment.

Duties

  • Represent clients in all phases of litigation, including trials (both jury and bench), hearings, appeals, mediations, and arbitrations.
  • Manage a diverse caseload from start to finish, working independently or under the guidance of senior attorneys.
  • Conduct in-depth legal research and prepare well-reasoned written analyses to support case strategies.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to devise effective solutions and legal recommendations for complex issues.
  • Participate in business development and client relationship-building efforts.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in litigation, with a proven track record in handling commercial matters.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex legal concepts.
  • Familiarity with county, state, and federal courts, along with knowledge of the relevant rules of civil procedure.
  • Ability to manage a high volume of cases while meeting deadlines and maintaining attention to detail.
  • Proven problem-solving skills, with the ability to independently make sound decisions.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
  • A proactive, organized mindset with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania.

Skills

  • Excellent analytical and writing abilities, including drafting motions, briefs, and other legal documents.
  • Knowledge of litigation procedures and the ability to navigate complex legal environments.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to engage with clients and legal professionals alike.
