Job Responsibilities:
The Legal Help Desk Attorney will play a pivotal role in supporting the organization's mission to achieve full recognition of civil rights for the LGBTQ+ community and individuals living with HIV. The attorney will be responsible for:

- Providing legal assistance and support through the organization's Help Desk, addressing inquiries and concerns related to LGBTQ+ and HIV legal issues.
- Engaging in public education efforts, including preparing for public appearances and presentations in areas of topical expertise.
- Participating in strategic planning with the regional team to advance the organization's advocacy goals.
- Collaborating with other departments and regional offices to ensure a cohesive approach to litigation, education, and public policy work.
- Traveling approximately 10% of the time for conferences, meetings, and other events to represent and promote the organization's mission.

Education and Experience Information:
The ideal candidate for the Legal Help Desk Attorney position should possess:

- A Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the bar in at least one . jurisdiction.
- Relevant legal experience, with the salary for this role being determined by the candidate's years of relevant experience related to the position, as well as their geographic region. The organization's salary scale steps start at 1 year or less and go up to 30+ years of experience.

Salary Information:
This is a union position with a salary grade of L4. The annual salary range for the Legal Help Desk Attorney position is $68,681 - $124,518. The exact salary will be determined based on the candidate's years of relevant experience and their geographic region.

Additional Information:
- The position is designated as Hybrid for the Western Regional Office (WRO) and Work from Home for other regions, with in-office presence expected when necessary.
- The role reports to the Legal Help Desk Director and does not have supervisory responsibilities.
- The position is exempt and full-time under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
