Job Title: Tax Director - Private Companies
Job Responsibilities:
As a Tax Director within the department, you will be responsible for guiding private companies through a range of business advisory needs, including audit, tax compliance, and planning. Your role will encompass aiding in improving operational efficiency and enabling clients to focus on business strategy. You will experience the full business life cycle of private companies from inception to transition, providing personalized service plans tailored to privately owned entities, entrepreneurs, and high-net-worth individuals. Your key responsibilities will include:

The role involves being a part of a team of problem solvers to address complex business issues from strategy to execution. You will need to apply your expertise in tax compliance and consulting for various entities, demonstrate technical prowess with ASC740, and develop and sustain client relationships. Networking, negotiation, and persuasion skills are essential to identify and sell potential new service opportunities. You will also be responsible for preparing and presenting complex materials, defining resource requirements, managing project workflow, budgets, billing, and collection, and leading teams to establish direction and motivate members.
Education and Experience Information:
Basic Qualifications:
- Minimum Degree Required: Bachelor Degree
- Required Fields of Study: Accounting
- Minimum Years of Experience: 8 years
- Certification(s) Required: CPA, Member of the Bar, or other tax, technology, or finance-specific credentials may qualify for this opportunity.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated thought leader-level knowledge or a proven record of success in assisting companies with understanding and assessing the tax impact of business operations and transactions in multiple jurisdictions, preferably for a global network of professional services firms, law firm, or corporate tax department of a multinational company.
- Ability to apply deep understanding of tax compliance and consulting for corporations, partnerships, pass-through entities, and Subchapter S corporations.
- Skills in networking, negotiation, persuasion, and client relationship development.
- Experience in preparing and presenting complex written and verbal materials.
- Ability to lead teams, create an atmosphere of trust, leverage diverse views, coach staff, and encourage improvement and innovation.
Salary Information:
The salary range for this position is $140,900 - $434,000, with eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus. For roles based in Maryland, this is the listed salary range for the position. Actual compensation will depend on the individual's skills, experience, qualifications, location, and applicable employment laws.
