Job Title: Employment Litigation Counsel, US/CAN
Job Responsibilities:
The Employment Litigation Counsel will be an integral part of the Global Legal team, which provides support for the company's innovative initiatives and products in the global video market. The responsibilities include managing all aspects of employment disputes, from risk assessment and litigation defense strategy development to effective management of external legal counsel. The role involves working cross-functionally to manage e-discovery issues, conducting fact-finding and analysis, preparing witnesses, handling depositions, managing case management conferences, engaging in motion practice, and preparing for and presenting in arbitration or trials.
In addition, the counsel will work with investigative teams to advise and counsel on investigations, ensuring thorough and privileged investigations of employment-related matters. They will provide employment law advice and guidance and serve as a strong contributor on legal compliance matters related to employment law issues. The role also involves helping to build and manage internal processes and policies to efficiently manage the growing litigation caseload and working cross-functionally to create, lead, or support training on global employment law issues as needed.
Education and Experience Information:
The minimum qualifications for the position include a Bachelor’s degree and a Juris Doctorate from an ABA-accredited law school (or foreign equivalent) with membership in good standing in a US State Bar. The candidate should have in-depth employment law experience in private practice with a highly regarded firm and a corporate legal department, focusing on advising on investigations and managing employment disputes and litigation matters. Experience in taking matters through trial or binding arbitration is a plus. The candidate should have experience handling employment litigation matters in multiple jurisdictions, through all stages of litigation, including trial, and retaining and managing outside counsel to ensure high-quality legal representation. Experience representing multinational companies involved in complex disputes with outstanding outcomes is preferred.
Preferred qualifications include demonstrated judgment, personal integrity, and interpersonal skills, as well as strong abilities to work as a team player and effectively collaborate with colleagues from the Global Legal team and business stakeholders. Excellent communication skills, including exceptional legal writing skills and the ability to craft persuasive and concise briefs, are also preferred.
Salary Information:
For pay transparency, the base salary range for this position is between $162,134 and $357,390 annually. Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on factors such as a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, experience, and location. Base pay is part of the total compensation package, which may include additional discretionary bonuses/incentives and restricted stock units. Benefits may vary depending on the nature of employment and the country of work location. Employees have access to medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) savings plan with company match, paid parental leave, short-term and long-term disability coverage, life insurance, and wellbeing benefits. Employees also receive 10 paid holidays per year, 10 paid sick days per year, and 17 days of paid personal time, which increases with tenure.
