- Unpaid internship opportunity for college students
- Gain field experience in courses related to social work, psychology, management support services, and more
- Provide direct and indirect services in various Local and Area Offices
- Work with the CP&P and DCF Central Offices
- Must be a current college student to apply
- Placement not guaranteed, application process can take up to 2 months
- Fingerprints, background checks, and driving record may disqualify applicants
- Office of Legal and Legislative Affairs offers internships for students with excellent writing skills and ability to communicate professionally
- Legal research and summarization of court decisions related to the department's work
- Work closely with the Administrative Hearings Unit to assist in reviewing and analyzing cases for appeal eligibility
- Assist in writing Final Agency Decisions
- Work with the immigration unit to assist with immigration issues for the populations served by the department
- Network with other agencies and stakeholders for access to immigration services and assistance
- Students and field coordinators can submit an inquiry form for internship opportunities

Requirements and Disqualifications for **Members Only** Student Internship Program
- Must be a current college student
- Fingerprints, background checks, and driving record may disqualify applicants
- Disqualifications include: child abuse record, outside activity questionnaire, driving record with five points or more within the past five years, driving under the influence conviction within the past five years, or combination of three motor vehicle violations/license suspensions within the last five years (excluding parking violations)
