Introduction

Venture Logistics, an affiliate of **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***., is seeking a highly qualified Director & Corporate Counsel to join their team in Indianapolis, IN. This role will provide legal services to the Venture Transportation Group of companies, including contract drafting and negotiation, advising on laws and regulations, managing real estate portfolio, and supporting the in-house legal team. The ideal candidate will have a Juris Doctorate Degree and at least 5 years of experience in a law firm or in-house environment. They should also have knowledge and experience in transportation, brokerage, and logistics industries, as well as Department of Transportation regulations and real estate contracts. Key Responsibilities:

- Draft, review, analyze and revise commercial contracts across the VTP group of companies
- Advise VTP executives and managers concerning laws and regulations specific to the transportation, brokerage, and logistics industries
- Manage all aspects of VTP’s real estate portfolio, including acquisitions, sales, and leases
- Support the in-house legal team with litigation matters, mergers and acquisitions, and other tasks as requested
- Identify and implement strategies to reduce outside legal spend and other external costs

Requirements:

- Juris Doctorate Degree from an accredited law school
- Licensed to practice law in the State of Indiana
- At least 5 years of experience in a law firm or in-house environment
- Knowledge and experience in transportation, brokerage, and logistics industries
- Knowledge and experience with Department of Transportation regulations
- Knowledge and experience with real estate contracts and issues

- Excellent attention to detail and ability to prioritize competing demands
- High sense of urgency and drive to provide exceptional client service
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
