Job Overview:

A prominent law firm located in Seattle, WA, is seeking a Junior to Mid-Level Associate to join its Structured Finance group. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in derivatives and structured finance, with a particular focus on documentation related to over-the-counter derivatives and regulatory protocols. This hybrid position offers a dynamic opportunity to work collaboratively with seasoned professionals on complex financial transactions.

Duties:

  • Draft and negotiate structured finance documentation, including ISDA Master Agreements, Credit Support Annexes, Schedules, and Confirmations

  • Advise on compliance with ISDA Dodd-Frank protocols and other regulatory frameworks

  • Support cross-office transactional teams on structured and derivative financial instruments

  • Participate in client meetings and calls, offering practical legal insights

  • Contribute to internal knowledge management and precedent development

  • Conduct research and analysis on regulatory and financial issues

  • Maintain high-quality, timely legal work under demanding deadlines

  • Collaborate across departments to ensure client expectations are exceeded

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience in structured finance and derivatives work

  • Familiarity with over-the-counter derivatives and ISDA documentation protocols

  • Previous experience at a large, recognized law firm (AmLaw 100 preferred)

  • Licensed to practice law in Washington State (or eligibility to waive in)

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Washington State Bar (or ability to gain admission promptly)

Skills:

  • Excellent drafting and negotiation capabilities

  • Strong analytical and research skills

  • Clear and persuasive written and verbal communication
