TAX-EXEMPT ORGANIZATIONS ATTORNEY POSITION - Fully Remote and Full-Time in California (Salary Range: $197,000-$226,000)

MLC is a small law firm founded in 2021 dedicated to the non-profit sector, with a focus on advancing progressive causes and promoting a non-hierarchical and equitable work environment. We are currently seeking an experienced attorney to join our team and help us build the firm while managing existing work.

Responsibilities:
- Advise non-profit organizations on legal issues related to their tax-exempt status
- Act as outside general counsel, providing legal perspective and connecting clients with resources
- Handle transactional and compliance matters, including corporate structure and governance, federal tax law, state charitable trust law, grantmaking, and impact investment

Experience:
- Minimum 8 years of experience specializing in non-profit law
- Prior experience in relevant legal or non-legal work will be considered

- Excellent writing skills, especially for a non-lawyer audience
