The Guardian ad Litem Office, 3rd Circuit is seeking a highly qualified Senior Attorney to join our team and represent abused, abandoned, and neglected children in Florida's dependency court proceedings. This is a full-time position with a salary of $70,. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work remotely after a successful onboarding process.

The **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. is a state-funded child advocacy organization that provides independent legal representation to children in dependency court proceedings. The office is committed to upholding the highest standards of integrity, excellence, and zealous advocacy for the children it represents. The Senior Attorney will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team that includes a child welfare professional and a community volunteer or pro bono attorney.

The Senior Attorney will be responsible for representing, advocating, and negotiating for the assigned children inside and outside the courtroom. They will also assist other Guardian ad Litem Attorneys in developing and implementing case strategies. The incumbent will report directly to the Managing Attorney of their assigned circuit and will also work under the operational and administrative supervision of the Circuit Director.

The successful candidate must possess legal skills and knowledge sufficient to represent children in court, as well as knowledge of juvenile law and guardian ad litem legal representation. They must also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds, and proficiency in using a personal computer and various software programs.

The minimum education requirement for this position is graduation from an accredited law school and membership in the Florida Bar. Candidates must also have at least two years of experience in the practice of dependency or related law. However, an exception for the required experience may be granted by the Executive Director or their designee.
