A law firm seeks an experienced Employment Attorney to join its growing practice. This role requires a skilled legal professional with 7-10 years of experience in employment law, ready to take on a range of cases while offering strategic counsel to clients. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in labor law, experience with both litigation and transactional matters, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Duties

  • Provide legal counsel to clients on a wide array of employment law issues, including workplace disputes, discrimination claims, wrongful termination, and wage and hour matters.
  • Represent clients in employment-related litigation, including court appearances, depositions, and trial preparation.
  • Draft and review employment contracts, policies, and employee handbooks.
  • Conduct legal research and stay updated on relevant labor laws and regulatory changes.
  • Negotiate settlements and manage dispute resolution processes.
  • Advise clients on compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and support staff to handle caseloads and ensure client satisfaction.

Requirements

  • 7-10 years of experience in employment law, with a focus on both litigation and counseling.
  • Proven ability to represent clients in employment-related legal disputes, with a track record of successful outcomes.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex legal issues to clients.
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active membership in the state bar (must be admitted to practice in the relevant jurisdiction).

Skills

  • Expertise in employment law, including familiarity with anti-discrimination statutes, wage and hour laws, and employee rights.
  • Exceptional legal writing and drafting skills.
  • Strong negotiation and settlement skills.
  • Proficiency in legal research and using case management software.
  • Ability to handle high-pressure situations and effectively manage complex legal matters.
  • Ability to maintain client confidentiality and handle sensitive matters with discretion.
