Job Title:
BOB- Associate Project Manager II

Job Responsibilities:
Under supervision, the Associate Project Manager II serves as a Project Engineer in the Field Operations Unit of the Quality Assurance department within the Bureau of Engineering Review and Support, Division of Bridges. The primary responsibilities include:
- Visiting multiple construction sites and overseeing construction activities related to major bridge components erection, concrete and asphalt placements, embankment, subgrade and base installation, pile driving, drilled shaft installation, and reinforcing bars formwork installation.
- Generating field reports on findings and deficiencies observed during inspections to ensure compliance with project plans and specifications.
- Reviewing design drawings and demonstrating knowledge of NYSDOT Standard Specifications.
- Verifying project and material acceptance records for compliance with NYSDOT MURK (Material Uniform Record Keeping) requirements.
- Possessing knowledge of concrete and asphalt material properties, principles of mix design, method of placement, concrete curing, and field material inspection and testing.
- Reviewing Maintenance and Protection of Traffic (MPT) around the jobsite and adjacent streets for safety protection for the public and motorists.
- Participating in contractor's progress meetings, quality assurance meetings, and performing other related duties.

Education and Experience Information:
Minimum Qualifications:
- One year of full-time satisfactory experience in supervising employees performing project management work, such as planning, administering, managing, coordinating, or expediting, on engineering, architectural, or landscape architectural projects, or supervising a construction project with a value of $1,000,000 or more.

Candidates must also meet one of the following educational criteria:
1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university in engineering, engineering technology, architecture, landscape architecture, architectural technology, construction, construction management, construction technology, sustainable design, urban planning, urban studies, city planning, transportation planning, business administration, or public administration, and one year of full-time satisfactory experience in project management work for engineering or architectural projects.
2. A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and five years of experience as described above.
3. A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent plus any combination of college or university education and/or experience as described above to make up the equivalent of five years of education and experience. One year of experience credit will be given for:
- Each 30 semester credits of college or university education leading to a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in relevant fields.
- A Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in one of the relevant disciplines.
- A Juris Doctor degree, or
- A valid New York State license as a Professional Engineer, Registered Architect, or Registered Landscape Architect.

In addition to the above requirements, candidates must have at least one additional year of experience in a supervisory capacity or have served for at least one year as a project manager for a large and/or complex construction project.

Preferred Skills:
- Field construction experience and the ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written form.

Salary Information:
Salary range for this position is $84, to $123,.
