Job Title: Corporate Counsel

Job Responsibilities:
- Provide legal support for five Title IV institutions located in the United States and the Caribbean.
- Collaborate with institutional departments to conduct legal research, writing, and analytical support.
- Review and negotiate domestic and international agreements, clinical affiliation agreements, and strategic partnership agreements.
- Offer guidance on student-related issues including misconduct, academic dishonesty, records, disability accommodations, policy requirements, and pre-litigation matters.
- Review, draft, and respond to student complaints with external agencies and/or private legal counsel.
- Coordinate compliance with FERPA and student privacy protections, including subpoenas for education records.
- Advise on academic research, institutional contracting, regulatory compliance, and issues related to higher education for nursing, medical programs, and veterinary medicine, including for-profit higher education.
- Review and draft policies, procedures, principles, and practices to support institutional goals, manage risk, and provide guidance on updates.
- Collaborate with business partners to develop and implement best practices.
- Create and deliver training on substantive legal topics.

Education and Experience Information:
- . from an accredited law school required.
- Must be in good standing with the Illinois State Bar.
- 7+ years of prior experience as an attorney in a law firm or corporate in-house legal experience.
- Experience negotiating commercial contracts, particularly in information technology and consulting services.
- Litigation experience.
- Experience providing legal counsel on consumer protection laws.
- Strong problem-solving skills to assess risk and opportunity.
- Exemplary analytical and interpretation skills; strong legal research, writing, negotiation, and organizational skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate and interact with clients at all levels, including senior management.
- Must exercise sound judgment and work independently under time pressures and deadlines.
- Strong work ethic, customer service orientation, and ability to prioritize conflicting demands.

Salary Information:
- The expected salary range for this position is between $100, and $181,.
- Actual pay will be adjusted based on job-related factors such as experience, training, geographic location, licensure, certifications, market factors, departmental budgets, and responsibility.
