Job Title: Senior Appellate Court Attorney
Job Responsibilities:
- Research and analyze complex legal issues for the court.
- Prepare preliminary reports and confidential memoranda.
- Review draft decisions for accuracy of citations and conformance with the record on appeal.
- Organize, analyze, and interpret legal issues.
- Write clear and concise prose and communicate clearly and succinctly.
- Maintain strict confidentiality in all aspects of work.
- Serve in a confidential capacity and work under substantial independence from supervision.
Education and Experience Information:
- Admission to the New York State Bar.
- Two (2) years of service in the Appellate Court Attorney title or equivalent legal experience.
Salary Information:
- Base Salary: $110,853
- Additional Location Pay: $4,920
Additional Information:
- The position is classified as Non-Competitive/Confidential.
- Attorneys in this series are required to have knowledge of the law and trial procedures.
- The appointee may be subject to reassignment within the same title in this promotion unit as per the needs of the Unified Court System.
