Summer is the perfect time for students to gain hands-on experience in their field of study through internships. The **Members Only** offers undergraduate and law students the opportunity to participate in an unpaid internship during their Fall or Spring semesters or during their Summer break. This program allows students to work with experienced professionals and gain valuable knowledge and skills in the criminal justice field.

The internship is located at the Enforcement Services & Training Bureau in the Training Academy in Sea Girt. Students will be assigned to one of the Division’s Bureaus or supporting Units and Offices, under the supervision of a Detective or a Deputy Attorney General. The program is overseen by an Assistant Attorney General, ensuring a high level of supervision and mentorship for the interns.

The program is open to undergraduate and law students, with different expectations and opportunities for each. Undergraduate interns will have the chance to learn about investigative aspects for the interdiction and prosecution of criminal law violations, which will enhance their studies in Criminal Justice or related fields. Law interns will have the opportunity to work with a variety of substantive areas of New Jersey criminal law, and are expected to have excellent legal research and writing skills. Both types of interns are also expected to have strong interpersonal communication skills.

In addition to the assigned duties and responsibilities, interns will have the opportunity to observe and work with experienced professionals in the course of their normal job duties. This includes appearances before the Law Division (Criminal Part), Appellate Division, and occasionally, the New Jersey Supreme Court. Interns may also attend the Summer Intern Brown Bag Lunch Program, where they will have the chance to learn from experienced Detectives and Deputy Attorneys General through speaking and training events.

To apply for the internship program, undergraduate and law students are required to submit a completed Internship Application, cover letter, resume, and most recent official transcript. Law students must also submit a legal writing sample. Applicants are encouraged to express their interest in specific Bureaus within the Division and any geographical preferences, although no particular assignment is guaranteed. All materials should be submitted via email to ****.

The **Members Only** values diversity and is committed to providing equal opportunities to all interns. The program is open to students of all backgrounds and encourages applicants from diverse communities.
