Key Responsibilities:
- Provide legal advice on a wide range of subject matter areas, including healthcare, corporate, intellectual property, mergers and acquisitions, real estate and employment
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations
- Monitor compliance with laws, policies, and procedures and recommend and assist with implementation of new policies and procedures
- Work with and supervise outside counsel on healthcare regulatory and corporate matters
- Conduct legal research and prepare legal memoranda and correspondence
- Keep abreast of legal developments affecting home health and hospice providers
- Assist with corporate transactions and legal due diligence
- Teach legal compliance and best practices to internal teams
- Comply with policies, procedures, and regulatory mandates
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited law school
- Active license to practice law in the State of Tennessee (or capable of becoming such)
- 5+ years of experience at a law firm and/or as in-house counsel
- In-depth knowledge of healthcare laws and regulations
- Experience drafting, revising, and negotiating vendor agreements
