A highly respected national law firm is seeking an AI Innovation Counsel to lead the advancement and adoption of artificial intelligence and legal technology across the firm's practice groups. This role will drive the integration of generative AI, machine learning, and future-facing tech tools into legal service delivery models. Working closely with attorneys, innovation teams, and clients, the role is central to enhancing efficiency, fostering innovation, and maintaining the firm's competitive edge in a technology-driven legal market.

Lead initiatives to adopt, integrate, and implement AI tools—including generative AI and large language models—across legal departments
Provide direct support to attorneys in identifying AI applications, designing workflows, and facilitating training sessions
Conduct firmwide workshops, design-thinking sessions, and AI education programs tailored to practice groups
Collaborate with innovation and practice support attorneys to develop and promote AI use cases by role, matter type, and workflow phase
Create and maintain a robust prompt library and case-specific example archive
Guide and manage the AI & Tech Ambassadors program; define roles and lead regular collaboration meetings
Serve as a subject matter expert on internal generative AI tools; track platform updates and manage best practices
Evaluate technology performance through internal data analysis and external market benchmarking
Collaborate with legal tech vendors to provide feedback and lead testing for potential technology enhancements
Manage onboarding and adoption of AI-driven tools; coordinate pilot programs and feedback cycles
Provide client-facing consultation regarding the firm’s AI capabilities in legal service delivery
Develop marketing and business development resources, including case studies and innovation portals
Minimum of 8 years’ legal practice experience in an Am Law 200 or similarly sized firm
Advanced technical knowledge of generative AI, agentic AI, machine learning, and large language models
Significant experience with legal technology, including implementation, training, and adoption strategy
Demonstrated success managing cross-departmental initiatives in a law firm setting
Ability to clearly communicate complex technical ideas to both legal and business professionals
Strong problem-solving and process design capabilities in environments lacking standardization
Availability to travel occasionally for collaboration or client needs
Juris Doctor (.) from an accredited . law school
Licensed and in good standing to practice in at least one . jurisdiction
Legal technology, innovation, or AI-related certifications preferred (not required)
Strong interpersonal and client communication skills
Ability to lead innovation and training programs across all organizational levels
Familiarity with legal workflow optimization tools and best practices
Excellent writing, presentation, and public speaking capabilities
Analytical, organized, and capable of managing concurrent initiatives
Creative and proactive mindset with enthusiasm for change and transformation
