Job Title: Trust and Estate Tax Manager
Job Responsibilities:
The Trust and Estate Tax Manager at the company will be responsible for leading various tax engagements and providing mentorship to staff while maintaining client relationships. Key responsibilities include:
- Reviewing individual, trust, partnership, and corporate tax returns prepared by tax staff and/or seniors to ensure accuracy.
- Conducting research and drafting memoranda on complex tax matters.
- Identifying and implementing tax planning opportunities.
- Handling and resolving tax controversies.
- Overseeing comprehensive tax research projects for a variety of clients across diverse industries.
- Managing multiple engagements concurrently with different teams to efficiently meet client deadlines.
- Conducting constructive discussions with team members on their evaluations and providing counsel accordingly.
- Serving as an instructor or discussion leader in professional development programs.
Education and Experience Information:
Candidates for the Trust and Estate Tax Manager position should possess the following qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
- A CPA license, JD, or Masters of Science in Taxation is required.
- At least 5 years of prior experience working in the tax department of a public accounting firm, with experience in leading multiple engagements and supervising staff.
- Excellent analytical and technical tax skills.
- Exceptional client service and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain outstanding client relationships.
- Ability to manage multiple engagements and competing projects in a rapidly growing, fast-paced, interactive, results-based team environment.
- Strong leadership, training, and mentoring skills, coupled with excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills to represent the company well to client’s management.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and project management skills, with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to travel as needed.
Salary Information:
The compensation for the Trust and Estate Tax Manager position varies by location. In addition to base compensation, the company offers a competitive benefits package and bonus program based on individual and firm performance. Final offer amounts are based on factors such as the specific role, hiring location, as well as the individual’s skills, experience, and qualifications. Salary ranges for various locations are as follows:
- Baltimore: $110,000 - $150,000 annually
- Los Angeles: $120,000 - $190,000 annually
- Massachusetts: $100,000 - $160,000 annually
- New York City: $110,000 - $165,000 annually
- Orange County: $120,000 - $175,000 annually
- Rhode Island: $100,000 - $160,000 annually
- San Diego: $130,000 - $155,000 annually
- San Francisco: $110,000 - $200,000 annually
- San Ramon: $135,000 - $170,000 annually
- Washington, .: $105,000 - $170,000 annually
- Washington State: $80,000 - $90,000 annually
