Job Title: Deputy General Counsel (Sr Director), Legal Center of Excellence
Job Responsibilities:
- Act as a strategic adviser and tactical influencer, providing business-minded legal advice on complex legal, business, and strategic issues.
- Transform and refine contracting models and workflows to achieve optimal efficiency and scale, analyzing complexity, effort, and risk.
- Develop and implement a modern contracting strategy for streamlined end-to-end processes for customer, partner, inbound, and professional services.
- Partner with departments like revenue recognition, security, privacy, compliance, and sales operations to ensure agreements align with internal policies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams in Legal and Business Technology for process and technology solutions.
- Lead change management messaging and communication to executive, legal, and cross-functional audiences.
- Leverage business expertise to implement process improvements and serve as a trusted advisor for business process owners.
- Champion organizational change and support processes, aiding change management and enablement with clients and business partners.
- Opportunity to lead a team within the Center of Excellence.
Education and Experience Information:
- 15+ years of in-house legal experience focusing on commercial transactions, with additional experience in professional services, partner programs, and inbound/vendor contracting being a plus.
- 10+ years in modern contract drafting and business process design.
- 5+ years of experience in driving contracting transformation initiatives and contact lifecycle management (CLM) concepts and technology.
- 5+ years of leadership experience.
- Experience in an agile environment and effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Experience counseling senior executives in high-growth companies.
- Significant experience counseling global organizations on commercial and compliance issues.
- Ability to identify and leverage workflow automation tools to streamline operations and improve business efficiency.
- Creative approach to problem-solving with the ability to take a pragmatic approach to risk management.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to create and sustain lasting relationships with customers and senior management.
- Experience working in a legal department, particularly with customer contracts.
- Strong interest in AI solutions and their application in data analysis, with a willingness to learn and contribute to model development and deployment.
Salary Information:
- Primary Location Base Pay Range: $292,000 USD - $438,000 USD.
- Additional US Location(s) Base Pay Range: $246,500 USD - $438,000 USD.
- Compensation offers are based on factors including geography, experience, skills, job duties, and business need.
- The role may be eligible for the **Members Only** Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus, as well as annual refresh stock grants.
