Job Title: Environment and Natural Resources Attorney
Job Responsibilities:
The primary responsibility of an Environment and Natural Resources Attorney at the organization is to litigate cases that shape environmental and natural resources law nationwide. The attorney's work will advance the core principles of the organization, which include shifting the nation's perspective from a scarcity mindset to an abundance mindset while protecting individual liberty, freedom, and constitutional rights. The attorney will be expected to take ownership of significant cases early on, collaborate closely with experienced litigators, and develop into a national leader in environmental law. They will have the autonomy to identify new cases, shape the organization's environmental and natural resources litigation agenda, and represent the organization at conferences, in the media, and within the broader liberty movement.
Education and Experience Information:
Candidates for this position should possess between 1 to 6 years of relevant litigation experience, with a preference for backgrounds in environmental law, natural resources, land use, property rights, or regulatory litigation. Strong legal writing and oral advocacy skills are essential. The ideal candidate should have a strong drive to grow into a national leader in environmental and natural resources law, as well as a passion for liberty, the rule of law, and principled stewardship of the environment and natural resources. Outstanding interpersonal and collaboration skills are also important. Comfort with travel, which is anticipated to be between 15% to 20%, is necessary. A deep understanding of the Constitution’s limits on government power is considered a significant advantage.
