Manager, Talent Solutions (People & Development)
Job Responsibilities
The Manager, Talent Solutions (People & Development) is tasked with the recruitment, screening, interviewing, and vetting of candidates. The role involves building candidate rosters, networking within the legal community, and assisting the Client Solutions team with fulfilling orders. Additional responsibilities include:
- Developing a pipeline of specialized legal professionals based on supply and demand signals.
- Collaborating with talent team members to validate candidate skills, experience, business acumen, and professionalism, and providing final approval for placements.
- Strategizing with New Business and Client Solutions teams to understand and fulfill client openings and associated requirements.
- Interacting with executives in corporate legal departments and law firms to understand opportunities, specific needs, and presenting viable candidates.
- Managing and growing existing candidate relationships by understanding the legal job market, client environment, and overall legal needs to match candidates to customer needs.
- Supporting New Business and Client Solutions teams to ensure high-level service and quality on assignments.
- Acting as a trusted advisor to clients on the legal talent community and job market.
- Participating in both in-person and virtual legal networking opportunities to identify potential client and candidate opportunities.
- Matching existing roster and prospective candidates to client requirements.
- Presenting candidates to Client Solutions and New Business teams.
- Preparing candidates for client interviews.
- Ensuring employment or client-required paperwork is completed prior to assignment.
- Maintaining active relationships with candidates on and off assignment.
- Documenting all activities in Candidate ATS (Bullhorn) and Smartsheet.
- Professionally developing working candidates through regular communications.
- Adhering to the company handbook.
- Working independently and proactively to meet aggressive timelines in a dynamic environment.
- Demonstrating sound business judgment and managing multiple wide-ranging matters and conflicting deadlines.
- Fostering teamwork by cultivating relationships and effectively communicating with teammates and cross-functional partners.
- Identifying, prioritizing, and resolving issues quickly and effectively.
- Following through with both internal and external customers.
- Demonstrating strong critical and analytical thinking skills and attention to detail.
- Showing interest in learning a variety of tools, including proprietary systems.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Information
- Education: A Bachelor’s Degree is required, with a Juris Doctor (.) highly preferred.
- Experience: 3-5 years of legal experience, whether with a large firm, in-house, or as a consultant in the legal services industry. Prior legal recruiting experience is highly preferred.
- Skills: Ability to assess talent, manage multiple priorities with attention to detail, strong communication and interpersonal skills. Previous recruiting experience and familiarity with Bullhorn or similar ATS are preferred.
